Not sure what dumb premise you're referring to or what scientific fact.
I've already had covid so I'm better protected from Covid than someone who hasn't and has been vaccinated. The scientific fact is that I now have a better chance of dying from the vaccine than from Covid. So, what are we talking about here?

COL (Join to see) - Here's an article from NIH about immunity after recovery. Throw in the survivability rate for Covid and the chance of an adverse effect from the vaccine, I'll stick to not getting the vaccine.

Lasting immunity found after recovery from COVID-19
The immune systems of more than 95% of people who recovered from COVID-19 had durable memories of the virus up to eight months after infection.

Thank you for that Sgt (Join to see). It seems as I stated, it is still being looked at and only time will tell regarding duration and quality of effective protection. I am still however waiting for your evidence to support your claim your immunity is better than someone vaccinated. Seems quite the bold claim, and there is absolutely no scientific data to back that up. Lots of politicians and the like said it, but no science.

COL (Join to see) - Dr Sanjay Rai, President, Indian Public Health Association - "There is no disease in which the antibodies developed through vaccines last longer than natural antibodies."

New studies find immunity from COVID-19 could last years
“People who were infected and get vaccinated really have a terrific response, a terrific set of antibodies, because they continue to evolve their antibodies,” said Michel Nussenzweig, an immunologist who led one of the studies. “I expect that they will last for a long time.”

Sgt (Join to see) the article from “the hill”, hardly a source for scientific knowledge, states vaccination enhances natural immunity. No
Where does it state natural is superior to vaccination. In fact if you read this article youd be wise to get vaccinated to be super protected. Second there was no mention of this Indian person nor source of the opinion which has been refuted in epidemiological and immunological studies since small pox. Thus far your claims are not very clear.

He is f@cking right and is a poet too. It really is sad and sick this way, but we will see a lot of Republicans who will suffer, because they chose to take a stupid chance.

..there hasn't been one legitimate and honest survey of WHO isn't getting the vaccine, but a lot of it younger families with kids or families of mixed ethnic background out here in the SouthCentral & SouthWest part of the country and they're NOT Republicans. As a member of the Military & an Officer, you should keep your politics to yourself - there's no ONE Political side to our country's Military Forces!

MAJ Ken Landgren - IF your Active Duty - NO, politics is NOT part of the military mission for the fighting forces. Then again you appear to young to properly understand your Country or the Military, Officers are the cause of ALL Deaths in the Military!

Sgt Douglas M. - Look dumbass, if I want to talk politics with my friend I will. You seem to be too silly to understand that. Officers are the cause of all the deaths in the military? Really? Damn you are a box of rocks.

I found him quite amusing but sadly you can't force it. COL (Join to see) if I may ask even though you don't work for the FDA is there a time restriction on how or when the FDA can give licensing? Or is it the amount of time it takes to look over all the data related to the product before they give their approval? Pfizer sent a request for licensing I belive the first week of May and its been about 2 months since. What are your thoughts?

so the typical process takes months to years. If not for the enormity of COVID on every single demographic on Earth, we wouldn't be looking for full FDA approval till 2022/3. I am sure it will be this year, and although a while off from the perspective of our current "Big Mac" (have it our way) society, it will be probably one of the fastest approved.
The stakes are super high for the FDA. It is the ultimate authority and legally would subject it to great liability to not wait for sufficient data. Although I don't work for the FDA, many great folk in my shop perform research for and provides regulatory suggested guidance for them, so I am sufficiently familiar with the process.

COL (Join to see) Thank you for the educational response. I had a hunch it was a mix of data analysis and time. FDA can't rush but at the same time everyone wants it licensed asap. I'd hope to it approve by April or may of next year. A year after it's been submitted seems like a decent amount of time in my opinion given the amount of doses given per EUA.
