Writings been on the wall for a while. Libertarian party probably replaces GOP in the next two out three presidential elections is my guess. The democratic party I think will be in trouble too pretty soon. They've gone too far left and while GOP gets looked at as a much of greedy old white men, the left is being exposed for just plain corruption. I'm glad to see them both go sooner rather than later. I generally vote conservative, but this GOP/republican party is way too far gone for me. My hope is, though I don't like him at all, we get Trump for 4 years, and the US collectively gets its head out of its ass when it's time to replace him. 8 years of Hillary and the associated corruption is a bit much to swallow.

The Democrats were being pulled to the left by the Sanders camp, however that camp has been defeated and Wall Street now reigns supreme over the Democratic Party. Now Republicans are embracing populism and attempting to bring Main Street America into their camp. You have Libertarians who want to shrink government to the point that corporate America can do whatever it wants to this land and it's people, and a Green party that can't organize it's way out of an wet paper bag.

I don't really believe it matters who gets elected President during the next election, neither Trump nor Clinton are likely to be reelected. The best possible thing that could happen would be the emergence of third parties that could eventually break the duopoly of the Democrats and Republicans.

It spells trouble for both Democrats and Republicans. The religious left has been busing black church goers to the polls and preaching social justice while the religion right has been served as a bulwark of conservatism.

We're already seeing the result, as the Republican party moves right on economics, and left on social issues. The Republican party won't go away. It will simply switch positions. I consider the fact that Trump is the Republican nominee for president an example of this.

This is interesting. It has already happened once before with the Republicans. The republicans used to be very left leaning when it came to business practices and regulations.
