I've gotten to see them as well. I can only imagine what the sounds and view was when hundreds of these flew on their way to enemy targets.

I loved the Airshows we had at Barksdale AFB when I was there back in the 80s. Several times they brought in some old War Birds and they circled the field several times. Very Nostalgic.
