It wouldn't be bad in any case to buy 80% lowers and mill them out yourself. Replace your serialized lowers with 80% lowers.
Cut the serialized lowers in half, then report them destroyed to the BATF. You come off the list.

It would take a lot of time for the BATF to get warrants and serve those warrants on every outlet that has sold 80% lowers. Then to get warrants for any/everyone who has bought an 80% lower? You'd be looking at weeks at best, months or years more likely. By that time, anyone with any sense will have hidden anything the gov't might want to confiscate.
Going to buy a crossbow.

SSG(P) (Join to see) - I think that you misunderstood my statement. If you are on a list of having a particular item and then provide proof as to why you should no longer be on that list, then all the do is shift your information to a new list for future possible verification. And considering that we are talking about the BATF, well...
