Good grief! Seems draconian to me. I worry about my (almost) ten-year-old grandson missing out on the opportunity to socialize with his friends and get some outdoor exercise and FRESH AIR if he stays locked in any longer. We’ve tried to reason with our daughter but she’s swallowed the liberal party line and has turned a deaf ear to us. Maybe she’ll come around when she reads the new wills our lawyer is preparing

The 2nd and 3rd order effects of COVID have been horrible and within two weeks of playing with other kids (in the future) he will get sick. I have been saying this for months about isolation and masks and my son's first week back in school he caught a virus and shared it with us all. Because the Delta variant has been hitting kids hard with long term effects, I started my kids wearing masks again and he still caught a bug because he was around people he had not been around. Just a cough and sore throat. I refuse to wear a mask when I can get away without because I trust the vaccine, I trust hand washing, I trust coughing and sneezing into my shirt, and so many other smart practices. When I was taking care of COVID ICU patients, I had two change of clothes before interacting with my family, outer scrubs and then running entire worn under the scrubs (showered as well first thing in the house). None of us in the house got COVID while I was taking care of COVID patients and much of that was sound nursing practices I have practiced over two decades.

This is all about $$$ as a negative test on Monday means nothing on Tuesday.

One of my main concerns about all of this is why are over 40% of emergency services personnel not getting vaccinated? They are in the thick of things... They are risking getting fired! What do they know that we don't?!?!? Also, I have heard from doctors and it was told to us in the beginning that if you get C-19, you are immune and on top of that, natural immunity is at least 10 times more effective then the vaccine. Hence, I heard an ad from the Red Cross requesting blood/plasma donations from people who are naturally immune? The recipient will be immune also and if sick, will recover faster...

I can promise you neither the EMS system I work for or any of the hospitals I work for that there is some secret to the vaccine. EMS personal are by and large entry level healthcare workers; paramedics at most have 1.5 years technical training and EMTs far less. To many opinions and not enough evidence based practice and literature to be making such calls. I took the vaccine in December while working in a COVID ICU and none of us in my house got sick during my time in the ICU when El Paso was hit. I did other things to mitigate the risk which I have done for over two decades.
