I may have to take a trip back up there pone more time. I have driven !-84 dozens if not hundreds of time. I can even faintly recall when my family went on a vacation in 1947 and drove the old highway.
Usually, when I drove it recently, if I was not in a hurry, I would drive Highway 14 on the Washington side. Slower but more enjoyable. Now that may change with this new-old highway.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - When I was assigned to Readiness Group Ft. Lewis 1982-1986, our area of responsibility was all of Washington State and all of Oregon. We spent most of our time on the road. A good assignment but tough on the family. But I did get to see a lot of great country.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - I always go by the old expression, grandchildren are revenge on our children. I spoiled mine completely.
