Guard troops back inside Capitol after furor over move to parking garage

National Guard troops were allowed back into the Capitol to rest after some had been moved to a nearby parking garage, officials said.
Senators expressed outrage Thursday evening after Politico reported that Capitol Police had asked the troops to move their rest area and some ended up in the garage at the Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary Building adjacent to Union Station, just outside the Capitol grounds.
Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Illinois, said that by 10:30 p.m., Capitol Police had apologized to the Guard personnel, who had been allowed back into the complex Thursday night.

MSgt Robert "Rock" Aldi - we are starting to slowly open up again, restuarants can serve until 1800 - delivery up until 2200, cultural sites are opened during the week, and travel within the region is allowed. Thing I miss most though is international travel, the last 18 months have been painful in that regard as many plans my wife and I made got cancelled. Was supposed to be in Belarus for world cup of hockey this year, but alas, not gonna happen. Buena fini Settimana, Amico!

MSgt Robert "Rock" Aldi - No, we are region locked for at least two more weeks, So in all reality, we are locked in Lago Patria, seeing as we have been to Both Amphitheaters in Capua and Pozzuoli, and both Herculeum and Pompei. Funny though, our last venture outside of Campania was to Tuscany, to acquire some Brunello.

MSgt Robert "Rock" Aldi - Also, talking about football, you gonna hate me, but I think Brady becomes the GOAT with another trip to the SB, and becomes the second to do so with a different team. And the first to win one with two different teams as a quarterback. ( there was a defensive player that won 3 SB with the 49'ers and 2 with the Cowboys - but his name escapes me at the moment)

MSgt Robert "Rock" Aldi - But supposedly they had hotel rooms around the area outside of DC, that they (we the American people) were paying for but appear to be unused due to a number of issues. Interestingly they tried to explain it away by saying that they (the troops) were on extended duties that precluded them from returning and utilizing the hotel rooms that were supposedly reserved for them. Interestingly they also appeared to have a logistic issue with chow as well.
