Thanks for letting us know SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL
I certainly hope that after sequestration has run its course National Defense will be considered important on its own as opposed to just another federal agency.
I concur with the concept of better pay for military service members, right sizing housing allowance and subsistence allowance so that nobody is pocketing large sums of money and more importantly no military family needs to apply for food stamps.
I shudder to consider the next area of “social experimentation” which could be child soldiers [since most others have already been taken]. Many of our enemies have used child soldiers - from the warlords of east Africa to southeast and southwest Asia. The UN has been pushing for children's rights to include autonomy from their parents.
Lord help us if we attempt to go down this path.

Two parties, two chambers, one President and one thing in common: Sequestration wasn't supposed to happen....but it did. We're not taking money from dual military families...ok we might. Look at your spiffy PT's!! You can roll your sleeves....YAY. Can you fire seniors at VA.....don't worry about that. You got a new uniform that will hide you from the Taliban. I work at the Pentagon genius. We want the best and brightest minds to lead our future....how will that work when the entire AD company that does this was all QMP'd and they called up the Reserve to back fill? BOHICA in 2017.

The US Military IS NOT the place for Social Experimentation. It's sole purpose is to defend the Nation and our National Interest...ZIP...that is it....Nothing Follows.

SSG Roger Ayscue -
Army Mission Statement
The U.S. Army’s mission is to fight and win our Nation’s wars by providing prompt, sustained land dominance across the full range of military operations and spectrum of conflict in support of combatant commanders.

This harsh little fact, along with it being a privilege, not a right to serve, is conveniently forgotten by a great deal of people in DC, and some folks here as well. Each branch of our Armed Forces has their very own Mission Statement, and they all have that common theme, "fighting and winning", or words to that effect that helps ensure a common vision.

Anything that detracts from, diminishes / adversely impacts, or impedes our ability to satisfy our contractual obligation to fulfill that mission statement, I have issues with it. I've been of the understanding and belief that you assimilate into the military, not the other way around. Once accommodation starts, where will it end, and at what cost to readiness and ability to execute the Mission Statement?

Before the SJW mouthpieces, and usual suspects fire their torches and hoist their pitchforks: I personally do not care about your orientation or acronym'd group you identify with. I'm not a "phobe" of any flavor; because I do not have "a persistent, irrational fear of a specific object, activity, or situation that leads to a compelling desire to avoid it".

CW2 Lindsey Muller - Chief, it boils down to ... the TAXPAYERS should not be paying for it. BLUF: You want to transition because you was born a He and want to be a she...Do So! More power to you. But the taxpayers, should NOT be paying for it, at all.
The rights of those that are comfortable and adjusted to themselves are being disposed of for the Social Experimentation and the chains of command are now stuck with figuring it out. Sorry that you have issues, but it should not be be the US army that fixes them.

CW2 Lindsey Muller - By the way, it is not up to anyone to figure out that DOD pays too much for friggin Pot Pies to save money that way...This is $50,000 bucks plus per individual that could go to the US Army's mission.
