The Andromeda Galaxy (Messier 31m M31 or NGC 224) is a barred spiral Galaxy located some 2.537 Light years (770 kiloparsecs) away from Earth. Its age is 10.1 Billion Years old and it is the nearest Major Galaxy to the Milky Way. (Note: 1 Parsec=3.26 light years, just to give you some idea of distance measurement we are using.)
On January 5, 2015, the NASA/ESA Hubble space Telescope released the biggest image ever taken of the Andromeda Galaxy. The image shown in the video is 69,536 X 22,230 Pixels, resulting in a total of 1.5 Billion pixels, using 4.3 GB of disk space... The clarity of this image, taken by Hubble, is absolutely amazing as the Galaxy is so dense with stars, planets and all other celestial objects... Just watch as this video takes you through a journey across the spectrum canvased by the Hubble Telescope.
This is a MUST WATCH IN FULL SCREEN ON THE LARGEST SCREEN YOU HAVE AVAILABLE...
This is an absolutely phenomenal image of our nearest major galaxy neighbor...
Since this video was published on Jan 6, 2015, there have been 24,088,138 views... You will add to that number...
Enjoy!
