Futenma Commander Ousted Due to 'Loss of Trust' in Ability to Lead

Maybe it's time to review our Officer/Command Team selection process?

I don’t think we’re going to learn that this one was a “reflexive” firing. I served under this officer a few years ago (when I was still in the Marine Corps), and I was very unsurprised when I received this news yesterday. I understand the decision to relieve was pursuant to the results of a Command Investigation, but I don’t know what for other than that it was unrelated to the string of mishaps in the Japan area. My best guess is poor leadership like the CG’s statement asserts.

A lot of that has been going on lately, makes you wonder.
