In truth, we can only change ourselves, not others and certainly not the world. However, think of relationships as an equation. If you change one side, i.e. yourself, the other side has to change or the equation no longer works. Is there a relationship you can improve by changing your side?

PO3 John Wagner - You got that right! Someone gave me that on a pin-on button mucho years ago when I was getting sobahhh (Boston lingo! Heh!).
When I was working at the detox on the men’s unit I would tell “my boys” that when I was facilitating the relationship group.
I was glad I took that advice! My dad died 6 years after I got sober and I had prepared a relationship that would never have been able to be done unless I have changed my reactions and attitude! (Pops and I were verrrry much alike!)
Ahhh growing up in my 30’s was fun...27+ years later all is well.

Good morning! So many good quotes today. I coach people on change, yet I don't like it one bit when they move the eggs in the commissary to another place, LOL. So I will pick GEN Shinseki's quote because I need it: "If you don't like change, you're going to like irrelevance even less." We don't need to change for the sake of change, but I need to change the parts of me that need to be better. So I'll use yours, too: "The wisdom we seek for any type of change is right in front of us, it's a combination of everything we've experienced up until today." So very true.
