Brittney Griner is one of the best basketball players in the world. She's a seven-time WNBA All-Star and a two-time Olympic gold medalist.

In February, she was arrested at the Moscow airport for alleged possession of vape cartridges filled with cannabis oil. Griner was there to play for a Russian team during the WNBA off-season because the pay is much higher.

Typical Russian move, arrest some high profile individual on trumped up charge, and hold as a barter chip down the road.

If she really had the cannabis oil, that was pretty stupid. If it was planted (which is a possibility) that's bad.

My only issues is that I've seen people commenting on news articles (not this forum on Facebook) who are saying she "deserves" it because of her views on certain political issues. That the US government shouldn't help her because of her views on certain political issues. That part to me is just ridiculous.
