Did you listen to all his testimony on Capitol Hill. "How dare the POTUS think for himself without consulting me"........was the general theme. I was kind of wondering who exactly appointed him over the POTUS.

At any rate, the reason we got involved in the Ukraine in the first place is very simple. The Ukraine supplied a large chunk of the manpower for the Soviet Army before the Soviet Union broke apart, the Ukraine houses a good portion of the Russian weapons manufacturing factories for key weapons systems as well. By supporting the split off of the Ukraine from Russia we essentially DE-FANGED a large part of the Russian Navy, Army and Air Force....and neither of the three have recovered yet. So that I believe was a key strategic goal of the United States and we were successful at it. This is also why Putin wants the Ukraine back in the fold. With the Ukraine the dreams of Russian Empire return. Without it they remain just dreams. Hence the battle for the Ukraine.

From the article (berlow). Perhaps folks like Bill Taylor are simply over invested in some of these places. I don't think the average American does care very much. Even Bill said the answer "should be" yes which seems to indicate he knows it may not be.

I don't think the Russians are invading the US and/or Europe if they defeat Ukraine. I would like to see Ukraine hurt the Russians and even roll them out of Ukraine and Crimea. Unfortunately, mostly what Ukraine has done is received a ton of bad press due to the democrats ranting and raving about a phone call and trying to flip it into an impeachment. Ukraine was in great shape. They were getting lethal aid to fight Russia and more. Trump was giving him (the new president) international and diplomatic support etc.

Along come the democrats in the house. They have turned Ukraine into a sore topic and have created a lot of ill will for them for absolutely no reason other than partisan politics.

"Here's why the answer should be yes," Bill Taylor, who served as a key witness in the House impeachment inquiry, wrote in the opinion piece. "Ukraine is defending itself and the West against Russian attack. If Ukraine succeeds, we succeed. The relationship between the United States and Ukraine is key to our national security, and Americans should care about Ukraine."
