The Beach Boys - Sail on Sailor
From the Beach Boys 'Holland' album.
Thank you my space-exploration advocate friend Sgt (Join to see) for posting this video focused on the ESA’s Mars Express flight over Korolev Crater on Mars.
I wonder what songs are on the digital player on the Mars Express. I expect the video libray would include Blade Runner subtitled "do androids dream of electric sheep" after the dystopian 1968 science fiction novel by Philip K. Dick.

I remember the movie, "Blade Runner" and thought is was very far out...I wonder what my thoughts might be if I watched it again! Interesting perspective, Stephen...

That is a fantastic fly by! I did not realize that crater was that far from the ice caps. It brings a realism to all the maps I've ever studied. Nice!

I was surprised at this crater's size as it is some 52 miles wide...and scientists believe (based on Orbiter equipment measurements) that it is about 2-miles deep... That would be a HUGE amount of water for fuel and breathing atmosphere for closed quarters habitats...

If I did my math right that comes out to about 2,338,460,801,785,864 gallons of ice. I made an assumption and calculated for a cylinder then cut that in half.
Imagine 2,338.5 trillion gallons in one crater!
And, of course, all the initial colonization sites are hundreds, if not thousands of miles from there.
