We have a union! You can't make business decisions without consulting with us!

No. You are employees, not owners. If you want a say in how the business is run, go buy stock. Otherwise, STFU and do your job, for as long as THE OWNERS give you one.

MSgt Steve Sweeney A smart one.

Are/were you in the habit of asking Airmen Basic which targets to bomb?

Decisions about which stores to open / close / re-vamp are business decisions for the owners and board. The union being able to block store closures is akin to the E4 mafia deciding that, no, they DON'T want to charge that hill.

Sorry. That's not your decision.

MSgt Steve Sweeney My leadership style WAS the type that got shit done. Yes, there were some hurt feelings. But remarkably few, because, while I did not invite the Privates into the planning sessions, I DID get their feedback at time of execution, and during AARs. But if they decided they just didn't like the mission that higher HQ sent down? Yes, the ABSOLUTELY got a big cup of STFU. Because we don't pick the missions, we figure out how to accomplish them. And my troops took a great deal of pride in being able to get shit done. Even shit no one else thought was possible. Better, faster, and with less whining. And when you build that spirit of can-do camaraderie, you'd be amazed at how well troops respond. But I guess I don't know what I am talking about because you already know everything you need to know about what my leadership style was.

But there is a difference.
How to make improvements in the way a specific store operates - employee feedback all day, everyday. But WHICH stores to keep open? Nope, not their lane.

But my leadership style NOW is non-existent. I am HAPPILY the low man on the totem pole in my current position. Because I don't need to be in charge or trade on my rank or position. I have been offered a move up, which I turned down. There goes THAT ignorant prejudice, I guess.

They should be allowed to open or close any stores they want. Not a fan of Starbucks but not a fan of the federal government sticking their nose into places they don't belong.
