This story is the history of Ollie Eugene Worley’s remains over the past 26 years. His remains were left on the down RP step of a VFW in Hurst, Texas. His family was finally found and now he can have a decent burial.
The work of complete strangers paid off and now a World War II veteran will have loved ones present as his remains are finally laid to rest.
A worker at a Hurst VFW post found a box left in front of the building that turned out to be the ashes of Ollie Eugene Worley. After a search, they've now located Eugene Worley's family and will honor him next week at DFW National Cemetery.

Good news! Thanks for sharing SGT Keith Bodine! Glad his family knows and he can rest in peace. Glad to also know the VFW in Texas honors Veterans so well!

Isn't it amazing everyone loved him but didn't what happened to his ashes? I used the American Legion as my representative for getting my paperwork through the VA system. Every time I checked with them, they couldn't tell me how things were progressing so I switched to the VFW, and I had my disability rating in six months. They pushed it through as fast as they could. They're a great group.
