That is interesting news SFC Chad Sowash. I wonder who will be designated to carry the 84mm recoilless rounds :-)

SSG Jarrod Stover - I was thinking about light infantry in the days when mortar rounds, automatic weapons round ammo cans, etc. had to be humped everywhere.

81 mm mortars are light infantry weapons and the ammo load is shared by the team.

Marine light infantry was the same. Don’t know if they still are or not but I don’t care what you say, there is nothing light about the M2 or the 81mm mortar, LTC Stephen F.

I remember the old 90 and having to tote that thing around, hope this thing is lighter.

Why not two per platoon, or is the configuration going to be one Javelin Team and on RR Team? I was not around for the Javelin, but I was a Dragon/90mm RR Gunner and Weapons Squad Leader. What is the current configuration for an Infantry Platoon Weapons Squad?
