All four members of Hawaii’s congressional delegation urged the U.S. military Thursday to take responsibility for alerting the public about any future ballistic missile attacks, taking that role away from the state, which botched the job in January.

Also interesting: the National Capitol Region's test of the Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) System on Thursday, April 5th.
A lot of phones were buzzing.
The alert messages were issued by local jurisdictions, not the states, based on cell towers and GPS information.
Performance data is still being collected.
