Ted Cruz is desperate. His campaign is being steam rolled by a circus act and he simply doesn't know what to do about it. I feel bad for him. Generally speaking he might have made a rather good President someday. Not this year. Maybe after eight or more years of tempering. (To be fair, I said the same thing about Obama before he was first elected President and boy was I ever wrong about that! I suppose I could be equally wrong about Cruz.) Could you imagine how a Truman would have handled Trump? How about Eisenhower, Kennedy, or Reagan? LBJ would have eviscerated him...

CPT Jack Durish - Captain; All you have to do is check your prejudices and preconceptions when you enter.
When considering "Facts", I try very hard not to confuse "not liking" with "not existing" and also try very hard not to confuse "desired" with "existing".
Admittedly that makes life a bit messy because I have to keep on checking to see if my postulates are based on "Facts" that continue to exist, but - what the heck - I've got the time to do that.

COL Ted Mc - I love how people accuse me. What have I read just today? I'm guided by my prejudices and preconceptions. I'm a low information voter. In general, I'm an ignorant SOB. All because I simply disagree. I often wonder if they would say hurtful things to my face (oh, I can see the reaction to that statement. They will dance with glee thinking that I am hurt. Right) Hiding behind the mask of anonymity, they can say anything without consequence.
Well, that's a waste of my time, isn't it.
The fact is that I don't accept your facts just because you espouse them. Every statistic extolling President Obama's performance in office is belied by the reality I encounter in the community. I have met countless groups of people seeking employment, but they are no longer counted as employment seekers simply because they've been out of work so long that they no longer qualify for unemployment benefits. I have met countless others who are underemployed, forced to take menial or part time work. There are 1,500+ young veterans "camped out" at a community college near where I live, subsisting on GI education benefits because there is no other place for them in the economy. As I communicate with others around the country, I hear the same stories. Yes, that is all anecdotal. We can't put hard numbers to it because it would be inconvenient to the government for We the People to know the truth.
No, I'm not writing this for your benefit. I'm writing for others who are lurking on the sidelines, who don't want to speak their minds and suffer your hubris. I want them to know that there are some who are seeking to make things better. Obviously, those who wish to extol the accomplishments of their government aren't going to help. Why should they if they don't see the need to make things better?
So, you keep on spouting cooking the books and spouting your "facts" if that makes you feel better. I just want to be a comrade to those whom the system is failing. I couldn't even begin to guess at your motivations.

CPT Jack Durish - Captain; You have to remember that "Anecdotal evidence is not statistical evidence.".
True, the government stops counting people as unemployed once they are no longer deemed to be seeking employment - but the government has been doing that for DECADES, and has been doing it under BOTH Republican and Democrat administrations.
No one ever promised Americans that the "opportunity" in the "Land of opportunity" would be spread out evenly (although those who advocate that are frequently decried as "socialists").
Equally, no one ever said that each of us must not try to fill in the lacunae that "the system" creates (even though some people do tend to refer to those who try as "bleeding heart liberals").
No one ever said that we must all have exactly the same thoughts, feelings, and values (although there are some who do advocate that we should all think, feel, and value exactly the same way that they say that people 200+ years dead "Originally Intended" for us to think, feel, and value - and decry those who don't as "unAmerican").
So it is always with great joy that I welcome another (like you) to the ranks of the "unAmerican" "socialist" "bleeding heart liberals".

They both should STFU and concentrate on how they plan to repair the damage done by the Dens. And please direct your venomous attacks, if needed, on the real opposition, Bill and Hillary.

MCPO Roger Collins - Master Chief; The problem (?) is that CURRENTLY neither Mr. Trump nor Sen. Cruz is running against Ms. Clinton. They are running against each other and I have some question if either of them reaches the high standards of moral scruples set by Richard M. Nixon (both before and during his presidency).

COL Ted Mc - of course you do. Given Hillaries track record, it's no wonder you bring up Nixon. And, even if you or the Rebublican's may not want to acknowledge it, they ARE running against her.

MCPO Roger Collins - Master Chief; Eventually (in all likelihood) the survivor of the "Great Republican Nomination Train Wreck" will be running against Ms. Clinton.
Until that time they are still trying to claw their way to the surface of the swamp by pulling each other down.
And i accept your addition of Ms. Clinton to the list of those who I question reach the high standards of moral scruples set by Richard M. Nixon (both before and during his presidency) without any reservations whatsoever.
On the other hand, I can accept the fact that that lying little weasel was actually a fairly effective President. Can you?

Surprisingly enough, it's actually someone from Rubio's team that's being identified as the source.
