Thunder Bay is on Lake Superior on the Canadian side.
Too many indigenous youth are found dead in the rivers. Police are sometimes hesitant to show the drowning victims bodies to their families. Some of the drowning victims are found with bruises associated with an assault.
The police assume that all the indigenous teenagers who died were drunk and it was death by misadventure when others who survived assaults from possible gangs or serial killers going after indigenous men and women. The police never suspect Foul Play.
The police don't have a forensic team. The police don't do interviews and they don't protect the crime scene, they don't investigate the person found dead, they have no sense of urgency and make assumptions based on 'drunk Indian' stereotypes.
These are kids who have to leave their Indian reserve to attend high school in the big city.
Retired detective Dave Perry helps out this investigative journalist and trying to figure out who these people are and bring them to justice.
