Fruit cakes come from the left, the right, and in between.

He is a fan of Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.

I am sure we are speaking of a very mixed-up young man. He showed a lot of problems for many years now. Did he tweet that he was a "leftist," a Warren supporter, an Antifa fan? Certainly did. But the record of his hatred goes back before any of that.
No, I am not making excuses.
No, I do not believe leftist could not do such a thing.
But, showing a high-school date a video of mass shootings on their first date indicates some serious problems clear back then. Also, he showed other high-school classmates a "kill" list and a "rape" list.
The boy had some serious mental issues!
