I made a business trip to Shanghai a few years ago. On final approach into Shanghai it appeared to be fogged in. I kept looking to see the ground, waiting and waiting. At the last moment, it peaked through the murk.
This is not unusual there. There are days it looks fogged in but everyone knows it is pollution. Anyone remember the run up to the Beijing Olympics and the concerns about pollution and the Chines shutting down some production to help the air clear up?
