Remember the school nurse coming around to classrooms with a tray of sugar cubes with red dots. I'll bet the antivaxers of today would go bonkers at the concept of that in schools.

Was a scary time... My sister and a one of our neighborhood friends down the street in Detroit came down with it. Iron lungs etc. ... A lot for a kid to ponder. Thank You Dr. Jonas Salk!!!

Remember those times well, church friend I grew up with came down with it and like you say, iron lung, etc. but she was lucky and got out of that contraptions but in braces still.

SGT (Join to see) - I was Born in 1958, A Good Time when it would start Fading from Memory. Unfortunately Not Soon Enough to Avoid the Occasional Bouts with Shingles! LOL!
