Too bad the USA could not but it. Would it be a Navy version of a Chevy Vega or a problematic Ford Focus or Edsel?
I believe, if seaworthy, it would help us in projecting our power worldwide now that China and Russia are expanding their navies and going from Defense to Offense. China is adding 5 new, but poorly made, Aircraft carriers on the next 5 years. I think they want Taiwan by force. No accident Taiwan is buying Javielin missle systems and 125 M1A2 SEP Abrams tanks.

Hard no.
Why would we want a 50+ yr old boat in need of massive modernizations/upgrades with decades worth of history of accidents and unreliability? Carriers traveling with a complement of tugs is something our rivals do, not us.
We have 20 aircraft carriers in service. 3 more are under construction. 3 more ordered after that. 13 more planned after that.
Have we ever come up just one carrier short of the desired power we wished to project? And if so, would this 50+ yr old problem boat really be the solution if you answered ‘yes’ to the previous question?
You’ve noted that our adversaries are adding more carriers in the near future. If we were to invest anything into this, it should be into a variety of ordnance. Carriers have proven difficult to sink, and we should refine our skills. Continue to find the most efficient way to drop a carrier.

Besides, it would be more advantageous to bring an older decommissioned American carrier in service and don’t decomm any more, if we need more now. Heck, we can’t get the Ford up to operational effectiveness.

This is an awesome story. I didn't know Canada had an aircraft carrier Fleet until 1970 and Argentina until 1990. I also didn't know the Brazilians trained Chinese Liberation Army Pilots on their carrier. Brazil is in a world of crap now economically and can't afford it.
