Those cars go in circles! SSgt (Join to see) Real race cars go straight - for a quarter of a mile! After they have done a burnout in a gallon of bleach at the starting line!

CSM I tend to agree with you. However the cars have gotten so fast in recent years that the faster classes rarely run a full quarter anymore. The NHRA top fuel and funny car classes now run 1,000 feet and most of the other sanctioning bodies are running an eighth mile. In some places they are running 440 feet. Even with the shorter distances we now have door slammers running well over 200 MPH (eighth mile).
