He has to announce he will run for now or he will officially become a lame duck President. I highly doubt he will run, and after next year’s elections, a new candidate will be introduced. It won’t be Kamala either. Both are an embarrassment.

When you "count" the ballots in secret, it doesn't matter how candidates are perceived by the public. They can put in whomever they want, as they proved in 2020. That's the real threat going forward, although it appears that they realize they won't be able to get away with it (at least not so blatantly) in 2024.
