Beards in the Military Don't Help with 'Kicking the Enemy's Ass,' Top Enlisted Adviser Says

I feel these issues should be looked at from different perspectives. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Colon-Lopez comments about it as unconstructive and shows that "old school" mindset without providing insight, much less a real argument. Sounds like a disgruntled boomer that is always angry.
What I believe, is that the whole uniform and appearance topic should be reviewed by leadership and SMEs. What is an appropriate appearance for garrison? For field exercises? For deployments? Does this actually affect morale? Why? Does it prevent a soldier from doing their job or being the best they can be?
Instead, you have a senior enlisted NCO saying "if you want to look cute with your skinny jeans and your beard, by all means do it someplace else. But quit wasting our time...". What an embarrassing statement that feeds NCO-stereotypes.
I would love to know the thoughts of my fellow Veterans.
