What happened on February 20 during the US Civil War?

147 years ago on 2/20/1864, a Confederate force under General Joseph Finegan decisively defeats an army commanded by General Truman Seymour at the Battle of Olustee. This was largest conflict fought in Florida during the Civil War. The victory kept the Confederates in control of Florida’s interior for the rest of the war.

Another great lesson on the civil war. I never really kept up with the civil war because I really didn't understand what the real reason they started fighting. The history you put up here is great and I'm learning more everyday.
