Someone please tell me that the actions of our politicians were not somehow the same type of appeasement tactics that a naive Neville Chamberlain engaged in during the early days of Adolph Hitler. Giving a bully what they want ONLY emboldens them. Bullies are cowards.
Putin is both a bully and a coward. Was it not the NAZIs in a thirst to control the rich oil fields and growing soil of the Ukraine region in WWII for the "sake of the German" people that sought to devastate the Soviets for control of that region with their Eastern invasion?
If the world does not think that Ukrainians remember the brutality, over 80+yrs later of the Germans and more recently the old Soviet Empire (aka Dictatorship) then their memories are of short. But the corporate (aka family) historical knowledge is vibrant of the Ukrainian people.
The world would do well to remember the importance of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address during our own Civil War:

In other words, the words that a young courageous president of a nation with a rich cultural history should not allowed to be subverted by the bully Putin, his words and courage should be repeated from every media venue for his people and the world to hear!!!
When President Zelinskyy is remembered he should be remembered as a kind of Winston Churchill is remembered the kind of man a fragile Great Britian and her people needed, in fact the world needed at a time of great unrestrained tyranny of the few to try to control the love of responsible freedom of the many. Zelinskyy should be nominate for the Noble Peace Prize, becaused he was forced into war, buy a thug who is anything but peaceful!!!
Read carefully Lincoln's words because I believe they can resonate for the Ukrainian people applied in the current context. While Lincoln asserted that his words may not be remembered, they are remembered > 150 yrs after they were spoken, this time from an international perspective.
So, preserving the peace and prosperity of the family of nations from the bullies that would make this family unsafe is as critical today as preserving the Union and defeating slavery was in Lincoln's time.
Just saying.....................it seems pretty obvious to me and I know others!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(The above remarks we reread and revised and extended.)
