More unarmed white people were killed. Well was Kapernick a slave? No, because people died so he could be free. Perfect country ? Find one and move there! Considering the progress made we are moving forward. Want to draw attention to an issue? Figure out how to package the message so you aren't alienating 1/2 your fan base. Recognize that the problems being dealt with are complex and multi dimensional and work at solutions. Heard an nteresting statistic. The average black person has more chance of winning the lottery than being killed by a policeman. The average black person has a bigger chance f being killed by lightening. Is Kapernck promoting lightening safety? In the mean time I find it disingenuous that people earning millions/ year are oppressed.

CW2 (Join to see) - maybe you are correct. I have no valid ideas or opinions about any of this. I do know I am not watching pro foot ball any more! I know NFL viewership is down.

LTC David Brown - FYI NFL viewership is down for numerous reasons. I understand the typical conservative logic is that the decrease in NFL viewership is the product of their boycott. However, there also happens to be another polarized group boycotting the NFL due to Colin Kaepernick remaining unsigned. Then, you have the people like myself who are opposed to the high-priced cable/satellite services and have decided to pay for much more affordable streaming TV services to what the games. So yeah, don't believe the hype.

He still talks about the flag not representing freedom for all. So he is saying we do not live in a nation where all have freedoms. Freedom of speech is important and speaking for those who have no voice. Our constitution preamble says We the people in order to form a MORE perfect UNION...
We are not perfect but we are United under one flag and we deserve and owe it to ourselves as Americans to unite under one flag. One that flies in formen lands protecting us back home. One that stands for the United States of America. Land of the free and home of the brace who died so that we can strive to live in peace. Strive for peace and unity not division and hatred! Speak freely but please don't disrespect those who were sent to defend all of us, PICK a different platform to speak freely. One that won't divide. Speak about the Indians Jews

Again, you're talking about things that are true but irrelevant. WHY are the NFL players kneeling in protest? How many unarmed Jews have been over-police, wrongfully arrested, beaten, and killed in comparison to black/brown people in America? Address what is relevant. Did you even look at the Ben Swann Reality Check Video??? A huge part of the problem today is that people want to talk about everything else except what blacks are protesting. The flag and the anthem do not exclusively represent fallen Servicemembers. They are symbols utilized for various reasons; keyword - symbols. Actual PEOPLE are constantly under discriminatory practices that do not correspond to freedom or respect. Maybe you should be more concerned with respecting the life of people rather than a symbol.

If you think that was irrelevant then I'm sure you won't see this significant but I will share in hopes you will open up to less attacks and more focus on what is your focus in this s protest...

Here is a very different issue yet it is very similar in so many ways I'm not sure you will see but this is my attempt to challenge you to stop attacking, alienating, dividing but offering thoughts towards looking at things that will unite for a positive change!

More appropriate way to speak out about inequalities that doesn't divine a country but unite this country... A year later there is results! My point is not especially what they are protesting but the movement using an appropriate platform.

"Iceland's women leave work at 2.38pm to protest gender pay gap" http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/iceland-women-protest-strike-gender-pay-gap-leave-work-early-a7378801.html

Now there is change a year later as opposed to the actions you support that a year later has ripped through the nation!

Capt Sabrena Goldman - unfortunately, you do not understand the foundation of this issue. You obviously did not even view the video that went into detail explaining a large part of the issue of racial discrimination. Secondly, you would have to know the real American history involving blacks in America. Your example of women in Iceland is a horrible comparison unless that demographic of people had been brutally enslaved and oppressed for the first 350 years of their existence in Iceland. If so, and they conducted a protest to gain equal pay, then it is a great example. However, the reality in America is that blacks were indeed legally enslaved and oppressed for their entire existence until finally gaining some form of equality in 1965. But even then, the police force was used to keep blacks oppressed and imprisoned in many cities across the country. From the 1960's up until this very day, there are numerous accounts of unwarranted police violence against blacks. Kaepernick said enough is enough and decided to use the National Anthem as his platform to gain national attention to these egregious act still being perpetrated.

There is NOTHING difficult about this for informed, open-minded, unbiased, empathetic Americans. It is the uneducated, closed-minded, apathetic nationalists and racists who cannot or will not comprehend what is transpiring. Yes, the willfully ignorant extremists are the real problem. Educate yourself, because I'm done.

Disrespecting the flag is wrong no matter what cause you are trying to garner support for. The overwhelming numbers of citizens agree and more important, regulations and laws agree

Capt Sabrena Goldman - maybe you should try reading to comprehend versus keying in on words that trigger emotion. The very simple statement I made was - " your assessment of "disrespect" to the flag is subjective." In other words, his idea of disrespect to the flag is based on his personal opinions and feelings instead of unbiased facts. I went on to provide some factual references for him. You should try getting out of your feelings sometimes and take an objective approach to reasoning.

CW 2 Kaseen Murray.
I couldn’t disagree more and Colin K and the lot in the beginning made it clear that they “wouldn’t respect the flag of the nation that” etc... This is a great nation that allows political dissent, protest and free speech. That does not mean that there are not consequences to that speech. The NFL before its flip flop had made that quite clear. Beyond the echo chamber of the regressive left there is reason (and Free from rad right as well). The National Anthem is about respecting the flag representing the privileged of the nation we live and those who died and sacrificed to make this imperfect yet glorious union. The same privileged nation that allowed those snowflake ball players to become millionaires playing a game... oh terrific impression. A overwhelmingly white audience has always supported the NFL until those privileged footballers began to disrespect the flag and nation. There are other ways and time to protest.
How about they bring their privileged butts to the projects where the number one killer of young black men exists rather than protest the less than 1% of deaths by police of every race. Murderous gangs land more your black men in a grave or in prison than anything else and these clowns are silent. How about they traipse to the project, invest some time and money and protest the crips, bloods, BGD, etc. so fake and disingenuous. Political correctness and grandstanding will never address nor redress these problems. Real authentic activism and citizen involvement and money can buy that takes real investment, real citizens and true bravery. I’m waiting to see if the NFL has something to invest other than noise and posturing. Until then the No Fans Left league (NFL) will continue to be delegated to the lunatic fringe and margins of political discourse and those fat check snowflake ballers will have something to appreciate because it is gone.

Some terrible inconvenient facts.
Let’s see what the NFL did when it wasn’t a politically correct cause. Did they tolerate the free speech or a crushed it. ... suspense buster
They crushed it. Here it is. The NFLs own record on such free expressions and speech.

So basically NFL always crushed dissent and surprised free speech. What fake PC hypocrites.
I am boycotting the NFL. I didn’t watch a game last year, won’t this year and maybe not next year.
Make a statement Veterans. Boycott the NFL and show your support for the nation that we all serve. Then become active in your communities and those poor underserved communities where our brothers and sisters also live.
God bless America.
