Are you suggesting the president is to blame for this virus? Do you think he saved lives with the early China travel ban? Does he have the right people working on this? Is it not getting the attention it warrants? What are we not doing that you think we should be doing? You may also be encumbered by not actually having the insight he has from the professional working on this issue. The press seems more concerned about what we call it than what we are doing about it. Is that the camp you are in Stan?

Cpl Jeff N. - I think the POTUS wasted a month claiming it was a Democratic conspiracy and not taking testing seriously until it was out of control and we could no longer contain it anymore.
The travel ban is just closing the barn door after the cows escaped, it's too late to worry about people crossing borders. It's already completely out of control here.

SPC Kevin Ford - So the travel ban from china was issues about 10 days after the 1st case in the U.S. ( Which was January 21) For this, he was labeled a xenophobe and racist by many in the mainstream media. This act alone has saved a lot of illness and likely death. Which month are you suggesting was wasted. He also issues a public health emergency at the same time. He also created the Corona Virus task force that same day.
He did not claim the Virus was a democrat conspiracy/hoax. What he actually said was that the medias coverage and the democrats spin of his response to the virus was a hoax. That they misrepresented what he had done and what he was doing etc. The same media that called him a racist for the travel ban from China. They did not seem to claim he was a racist on his European travel ban. Hmmmm.
So you are suggesting we should not have put a travel ban in place for China or later Europe. I am glad you are not in charge. It is never too late to worry about more cases coming into the country to infect more people. Keeping infected people out is important to do. You might want to listen to the CDC and the NIH and perhaps Johns Hopkins on this and not MSNBC.

Cpl Jeff N. - 1. Trump should not have shut down the Pandemic response team in 2018.
2. He downplayed the threat from the very start.
3. He appeared to be more worried about the market than American lives.
More to come.

Perhaps CNN should investigate the origins of many/most of these pandemics over the last 100 years. These tend to brew up in areas of the world not very well developed and perhaps with unusual practices. You cannot be prepared for every eventuality. We have the CDC, NIH, WHO and many state and local public health organizations to take this on.
We also have the added dynamic these days of being able to board a plane and be halfway around the world in about 15-18 hours. We have challenges with open borders, rapid transportation, and very large population centers.
