Justice prevailed in Penny's case and the restorative justice warriors got slapped down hard.

Restorative Justice restores nothing and does not deliver Justice. It's the progressive dream of crime being giving precedence over law and order.

Synopsis of "What the Daniel Penny acquittal in NYC means for America" by Christopher Rufo:

The acquittal of Daniel Penny, a former US Marine who restrained Jordan Neely on a New York subway, leading to Neely's death, signifies a pivotal shift away from the era of "restorative justice" championed by movements like Black Lives Matter (BLM). The trial was seen as a microcosm of larger cultural and racial tensions in the U.S., where the narrative was manipulated by the left to fit a racial morality tale, portraying Penny as a symbol of white supremacy and Neely as a victim of racial violence.

Rufo argues that the prosecution, led by Dafna Yoran, was ideologically driven, emphasizing racial narratives over factual analysis. Unlike the trial of Derek Chauvin, where the jury succumbed to external pressures, Penny's jury resisted the surrounding protests and media narratives, focusing on legal facts and resulting in an acquittal.

The verdict is interpreted as a rejection of the "social justice" approach that has, according to Rufo, corrupted the justice system for political ends. He sees Penny not just as not guilty but as a hero who acted to protect others from perceived threats. The conclusion drawn is that this case marks the decline of BLM's influence, suggesting a return to more traditional law enforcement methods like "broken windows" policing, which he credits for reducing crime in New York during Giuliani's tenure.

Rufo concludes by advocating for a systemic overhaul, removing what he describes as "leftist leaning" influences from academia, media, and especially from criminal justice to prevent such ideological prosecutions in the future.

Comment:
This acquittal could be seen as a step towards mending the judicial system from ideological biases, but we still need to remove these leftist-leaning people in powerful positions in Justice and law enforcement to ensure true impartiality and effectiveness in our legal systems.

And now Neely's family has filled a civil suit for millions. I have to agree with the Penny supporters, where was the family when Jordan became homeless etc.
