Interesting that he would say that since there's only been one enlistment (that I can recall) reported since this took effect.

SSgt Addison R. - Very true. I have served with at least a dozen. That doesn't include those I didn't know about before the repeal.

LTC Trent Klug While there is only one or two who completed transition prior to enlisting, you have a bunch of us out here who've been in service prior to the ban being lifted. I've served some of my first enlistment during DADT, and here I am after nine years of service working on my tenth. This isn't to belittle your opinion but to let you know there are a bunch of us who're seasoned.

I have been against people who choose to join just for education, and I will also likely be against joining just to transition for the same reasons. The military is not a place to get special benefits or anything else and then get out, it's a place that is about service and support mainly.

If you have already transitioned, or have already made a career of the military and want to transition, I don't see any issues therein.

Sir, I've felt the same when I get various leaders pushing soldiers to reenlist for college or because they impregnated their girl friend/wife or its a pregnant soldier who didn't want to seperate due to the "free Healthcare".
