Russia-Ukraine Conflict Continues to Cause Pain at the Pump

WASHINGTON, D.C. —As the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues, crude prices soar, leading to higher pump prices in the U.S. The national average for a gallon of gas is $4.06, a staggering 45 cents more than a week ago, 62 cents more than a month ago and $1.30 more than a year ago. The national average has not been this high since July 2008.

Still ticks me off that people seem more concerned about the price of gas in the US than what's happening in Ukraine that has caused the price increases.

Agree with you, but people like the two of us can afford it. Many are hurting. And I’m my opinion Ukraine is not the problem.

Thank you for this salient post, SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL!!! I filled up in Fort Myers yesterday at $399.9 per gallon for Regular... Some stations were charging $4.17.9/gallon... I don't believe we will ever see gasoline below $2.00/gallon again... The push is on for electric cars so gasoline prices will only go higher in my estimation... The irony is electric cars cost a great deal more and when that huge battery goes dead permanently, there will be two bills given you... One for the battery itself and one for getting rid of the old battery and both much higher than you are probably thinking now...

Neighbor bought an electric car last summer, cost him around $2,000 to get house wired to charge it and only half of the cost was covered by government rebates. Since then he says his electric bill is running $60-$70 higher per month than pre electric car.

Sgt (Join to see) Ya I think so as well. When I was working I probably spent around $100 per month on gas, so he is beating that. He figures around 2 years to recoup his up front costs.
