B-29 FiFi at Hagerstown Regional Airport last year. I was in awe at its size and the sound of its engines when it took off

You want awe, Colonel? Watch a C-5 take off or land. I swear to God you'll hold your breath.

SN Greg Wright - The Whine of those engines even a couple of miles away is unique on takeoff! I was there at Fort Dix-McGuire AFB for my CGSOC in 2014/2015.

Thanks LTC (Join to see) for sharing the great news that 95-year-old Army Air Corps WWI B-29 Superfortress bomber pilot veteran retired LTC Jack Keene was a passenger on a flight of Boeing B-29 Superfortress named FIFI at Camarillo Airport on April 29.
I concur with his grandson Grant Keene that Jack Keene was probably upset that he wasn't able to fly that plane since in WWII he "piloted B-24s and B-29s in 50 bombing mission and flew 100 missions transporting supplies over the Himalayas."
Kudos to retired LTC Jack Keene and each veteran from WWII.
