I agree with them all. #1 is especially important to Leaders. #6 is the reason I'm always on Lynda and edX taking new courses for so many specialties. However, with the economy right now, specialties are merging daily. You have to know more than one thing well. #2 is the reason I push open source in every IT solution I build. Thanks for sharing.

I fully believe in the notion of being a "renaissance" person; well educated (and not just in school), well read, and having a wide range of experiences, both age and skill related. Some should be for fun, some for knowledge and some just because.

(Join to see) - I've never heard the term "'renaissance' person" before, but I agree with your statement. There's too much free reliable information sources to simply accept ignorance or someone content in ignorance..

I'm being a bit PC; I refer to myself as a 21st Century Renaissance woman on my Twitter account but the term is actually older: http://www.dictionary.com/browse/renaissance-man

You work as if the boss is watching, even when he/she is out of town.

(Join to see) - That is good too. However, a few of my bosses were, shall we say, not a very good example.

Nope always worked for someone. One job the someone was a seven person commission. That was interesting to say the least.
