How many OCONUS Vets no longer can access HRC to update DEERS, access their records? Two years ago I was having problems with LOG -IN DMDC to access my account at HRC. As I live in Denmark, I had to wait for the correct time to reach the West Coast opening time, then pay for an overseas call. After spending an hour on my dime, finally I get a supervisor on line who told me they knew their system was flawed but they accepted it anyway to get the new security system online. Now two years later nothing has changed. HRC is still inaccessible by Vets living OCONUS. I do not understand what their problems is. I have no problems accessing MY PAY. For a security verification MY PAY uses my email address, sends a one time verification code. The VA uses a couple contractor login methods, one being ID.me, which I use. SSA also uses this system as well. All the above systems have sensitive information yet are accessible OCONUS. So what is the problem with DMDC? Why does DMDC still got their head stuck up their backside? Why is DMDC treating OCONUS Vets like second class citizens? If DMDC has such an inferior I.T. department why don't they just turn it over to others who are smart enough to do it?
I need to access DEERS to check and update my dependents information. In this day and age of electrons I should be able to. I can on MY PAY, VA, SSA, my information in the State of Idaho, yet after two years DMDC does not care about us OCONUS Vets. I have now written to my Senator in Idaho. I am hoping to get some action, this way getting my account accessible again so I can retrieve some military records I want, update DEERS. I encourage all VETS living OCONUS who have been locked out of HRC because DMDC fails to do their job to contact their State Senator and see if we can get this fixed.
I told the lady I was talking to: If I did my job as a SGM in the Army the way DMDC has done their job, I would have been jerked from the position, demoted. This is a travesty!
