She won't be the nominee. Nobody steps down in favor of someone less popular

I don't know where they go or how they can justify it. I see Pa. Governor Josh Shapiro as being a Democrat who has the total package and can deliverer Pa. to the Democrats. He is very careful and spreads money around very liberally in true Democrat fashion trying to make organizations indebted to him. He is very smooth and will have a national role in the future.
They only part I see that he is very smart and I don't know if he wants to attach himself to a ticket with Harris on the top, where he may lose. Mark my words you will see Shapiro in the future.

Do NOT dismiss the DNC's ability to paint a happy, happy, joy, joy picture to energize their base enough to cast a Harris ballot (or anyone else for the matter). Harris will become the "best candidate ever" in American history as far as they are concerned.

I would recommend Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear.
He's a moderate leaning towards the conservative side. Even though Kentucky is mostly Republican and conservative, he is popular throughout the Commonwealth. He has worked with them to the level that most Democrat Party Liberals think of him as an undercover Republican.
If he were elected, he would be able to purge the DNC of the leftist influences.

I don't get a sense of mental defect from Harris. I just get a sense of a lack of life experience that has very Progressive ideas.
