Things That Just Don't Make Sense About The Assassination Attempt On Trump

Epic fail by Secret Service. 1.) When they were notified by anyone about anything suspicious they should have checked it out. 2.) Only one Secret Service detail person jumped on top of Trump the rest got there but only after a what I think was a slow to react time. 3. Now I will say this. I don't think a former president is afforded the same full protection as a sitting President. What I mean by that is a building that close would have been cleared and police or Secret Service on top with a sitting president publicly speaking. Just IMHO this was a screw up and they are lucky Trump turned his head when he did or our nation would be mourning the loss of a former President.

Having listened intently to as much of the information I could, this is what I've concluded:

1. USSS details for a former President is already reduced significantly compared to the sitting President. This makes sense, but I still think intel should drive any decisions to increase or decrease resources.
2. The roof in question was designated to be under local LEO responsibility. Not sure why the SS would do this when even my own son could sit there and ask the question, why would the USSS leave that roof to the local authorities? Furthermore, why didn't the LEOs have this building, ladder, and roof under watch?
3. The team surrounding Trump reacted fast in getting to him. However, I am surprised they did not immediately lift him up and put him into the Suburban. I was not there and do not know the procedures on the other hand and we all must realize this is not a scene from the movies where we see the USSS execute a scripted role.
4. USSS and Local LEOs do typically have issues with comms, as they are not using the same devices and technology as the USSS. It is highly likely there was a delay in getting the word to USSS by the LEOs, but I do not understand why any of the contacted officers did not simply climb the ladder and confront the kid.

In the end, without all the facts and timeline, hindsight is not recommended. I do not believe there is a conspiracy here.

Worked two buildings down from Theranos' lab on Gateway Blvd in Newark, CA (their main HQ was across the bridge in Palo Alto). Anyways, as the Theranos fraud had yet to be exposed, then VP Joe Biden came for a visit. Co-worker and I walked over to watch the procession. Couldn't cut through the adjoining back parking lots as police had it blocked off. Snipers on all adjacent roofs. We were among perhaps at best 100 onlookers and couldn't get close to Theranos other than to stand on the sidewalk across the street. Police were everywhere as well as plain clothes secret service, canine cops, bomb squad, HazMat and emergency vehicles, a circling police helicopter, etc. etc. Then the caravan arrived comprised of motorcycle cops, police cars and the black SUVs. Actually, saw Joe as his SUV turned into the entrance to Theranos. Wasn't an outdoor event. VP and crew just went into the building. Spoke with one of the cops about the massive security and his response was: "if something is going to happen, it's not going to be here." Well done in NorCal that day.
