Tillamook County has long been known as Oregon’s dairy capital. More than a million people visit the local creamery each year. Its products can be found in grocery stores nationwide.
Within the next decade, however, something else could bring people here in droves: mountain biking.
The U.S. Forest Service is in the final stages of approving a vast new mountain biking trail system near Sandlake, an unincorporated community between two popular coastal state parks, Cape Kiwanda and Cape Lookout.

I believe if the trailheads and trails are done correctly, this project could be a boost to the area. In Dawson County, GA, an elderly woman has donated her land to become biking/walking trails. The land also supports a neighbors cattle and they will be allowed to continue to graze.
The interesting aspect of this trail system, like quite a few of smaller mountain bike paths, require riders to ride either clockwise or counterclockwise depending on the day of the week. Walkers must walk in the opposite direction and give way for the bikes.
It can and does work well and gives families and singles to enjoy the outdoors.
