I asked a submariner once what it was like on deployment. He said: Picture a giant toilet paper tube, now cram it full of people and equipment. Then spray the inside with a garden hose intermittently- take away privacy and space...and there you have it.

Didn't they do this with Abrams tanks a few years ago? Just goes to show that congress is more interesting in lining their buddies' (and their own) pockets and not the actual defense of the nation.
