Hmm. When I was going through a mandatory separations course it was brought up that one could still use the Montgomery if you paid into it and already used the Post 9/11.
To me the really winning factor was a document passed a number of years ago stating that GI Bill benefits were good for the rest of our lives; assuming we didn't use them all up already. GI Bill Forever, or Forever GI Bill. Something like that.
I remember getting out initially in 2010 and I would constantly see banners online stating that we had only a couple of years to start using the Post 9/11 GI Bill.

Oh I should specify that this mandatory separations course was taken in 2021 when I was transitioning from the Marines to the Army.
