There is a problem here. The article is saying that it's the milking process but that does not explain how a Texas heard infected a heard in another state. One also needs to realize that prior to milking the teats are washed and sanitized . Then there is the constant sanitizing of the equipment itself thus I have to believe the virus is in the milk of the cow.
The other problem is it did jump so things could go bad but by catching it this early there is time to find ways to disrupt transmission of this virus. Anyway it was bound to happen. A role of the genetic dice can sometimes come up snake eyes for humans.
