With the "Producers" Mel Brooks believed there was No Subject that Wasn't Ripe for Comedy and Satire. Blazing Saddles was Outstanding!

Basically Brooks was able to make fun of a great number of stereotypes and he got away with it. I can just hear the outcry and outrage if someone else tried to do something like that in today’s culture of being offended.
