Hungary’s parliament ratifies Sweden’s NATO bid
MY SAY: I have decided that world leaders, almost all of them, are incompetent, corrupt, or both. Probably both. Only ever escalation, never de-escalation. Always conflict, never peace. Like schoolyard bullies and ne'er-do-wells, always looking for a row. Each new country in NATO without addressing the cause and effect of such actions is irresponsible and does the exact opposite of what they think it does.

My say: This is about showing strength and solidarity. The cause and effect: Putin wanting to resurrect the old Soviet Union and Europe not wanting to return to old times. From history, NATO rejected Russian attempt to join since Putin wanted instant membership without going through usual application process.

Not sure joining NATO right now is helpful...they waited until it was no longer much of a counter threat...but I guess we'll have to wait and see
