WHY? Cause parents didn't want to deal with them? Video games didn't work? Guess what kids in my neck of the woods did...novel concept...THEY WENT OUTSIDE and played in the fresh air...went fishing, hunting, walking, bike riding instead of sitting in a house witha damn joystick in their hands. If the neighbors kids had covid they all hung out together...had to quarantine anyway from healthy people.
I believe today's kids are over medicated anyway. My wife sees it all the time with her kids at school. Parents don't want to deal with and actually raise their kids so they say they are too hyper or too withdrawn or whatever instead of sitting down to dinner, actually playing with them, doing homework etc and the doctors give them medication. If I had a cut it got merthiolate otherwise known as devils spit and if I cried they gave me something to cry about...if I hit my head and passed out my mom maybe me tell her how many fingers she was holding up...if I answered correctly I got an ice pack for thirty minutes then kicked right back out the house until the street lights came on. If I ever and I mean ever said I was bored my parents and grandparents found something for me to do. This coddling and being your childs friend and everyone gets a trophy and their way crap is why we are where we are.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth Overmedicated? Yes! And parents use this as an excuse to get a 504 health plan. The majority of them don't need it.
I remember growing up without television most of the time and there certainly were not video games. Life was in the great outdoors exploring, biking, running, hiking, hunting and lets not forget fighting!

Not surprising to me either. No body want to deal with them.

SFC Dr. Jesus Garcia-Arce, Psy.D If you saw some of these kids you wouldn't want to deal with them either. I blame the parents more than anyone else. They want to be the kids best friend and are afraid to discipline them and tell them "No."

SFC Dr. Jesus Garcia-Arce, Psy.D - Sorry Brother. I think I did misread what you meant. I still blame the parents for most of the problems though.
