I was in Vietnam in October of 1967 when everyone predicted that Israel was going to be wiped off the map. (Well, most everyone. I didn't agree.) Funny thing is that everyone I spoke with was ready to head there and defend Israel rather than Vietnam. The universal response was, "Well, at least the Jews are willing to fight for themselves." Yes, they are and "proportional response" is a sure fire formula for war without end.
