I owned my first pistol at 18, my mother had to "buy it" and give it to me, at which time I was legally allowed to possess it. That .357 or the .45 ACP I possessed later never hurt anything but paper and steel targets...then I joined the Army and the gun safes have been upgraded many times over the years.
