“I felt like I got kicked”: Ontario man told new EV battery would cost more than $50,000
Simrat Sooch of Stoney Creek, Ont., was a true believer in electric vehicles, who described his first one as “very reliable.”To trade up, he bought a pre-own...

When the Tesla hit the market I was intrigued, but I waited. I liked the acceleration and speed (I've always had a "lead foot") but the quality wasn't there and you can buy some nice luxury cars for the price of a Tesla. (I'm at an age where I also like my comfort.) Also, I tend to be an early adopter of new technology (except GPS - I was schooled in the art and science of navigation at an early age and GPS seemed like cheating - Interestingly, one of the main reasons I shunned GPS was the question, What will they do when the battery goes dead? How will they find their way if they don't practice old-fashioned navigation?) All that being said, I'm damned glad I held out as long as I did. The case against electric cars mounts every day, especially with governments that have gone insane with Climate Change and Green Energy.

CPT Jack Durish I had stock and Tesla until recently, I bought it years ago and made 10 grand and sold it around 2001. now it's losing because they have to cut prices to compete with others. It may still be a novelty item. But I think it should be a personal choice. Not big government Socialism of mandating that half of American cars be electric by 2030. it's really sad because you have many makes of cars that are going away for the electric replacements a few years on the road, but the technology still isn't there.
and it'll be more expensive than it was before. . add-on top of that, you won't be able to charge your electric car. If coal-fired power plants are being shut down due to losses from the Sierra club. so there's a conundrum is you'll have to have your own portable generator or your Tesla home power pack solar panel array at home and that's not cheap either. either the way, the rich. Will be able to afford it, but the middle class person will not.

Biden invokes wartime powers to fund electric heaters as he cracks down on gas appliances
President Biden is invoking a 1950s Cold War-era law to spur domestic manufacturing of electric heat pumps, an alternative to gas-powered furnaces as part of his climate agenda.

So..., if he did replace the battery and he got another 100,000 miles out of it. What does that do to his operating costs per mile? How does that stack up against the operating costs of a comparable internal combustion vehicle for 200,000 miles.
Intentional or not, EV's are just another way to disenfranchise the poor from the American dream of mobility.
