I didn't realize the Army assigned non volunteers to recruiting duty; the AF recruiters are voluteers.
And the idea of changing with society to expand your recruting base is probably essential but you have to instill Army/military culture in those folks or you are wasting your time.

CSM Charles Hayden - I think a mix works...you keep separate platoons and do some of the training co-ed. But this is more about reaching out to obese kids or those with some college (HS is no longer a guarantee of literate young people)

So as I read it Big Army has given up and is now just spit balling to get people in. Perhaps you shouldn't have pissed on, and off, your biggest recruiting pool. But hey, we got drag queen ambassadors in the Navy now and it's not just a guy dressed up as Neptune's wife in the shellback initiation.
